WOW, THANK YOU so much for donating.

Together an astounding $158,000 was raised to help all Australians impacted by cancer.

Our Dollar Match Day was made possible by a group of our amazing Cancer Council supporters who contributed to our matched giving fund, inspiring other supporters to double their impact.

While your donation will no longer be doubled, every donation made today is important and will help Cancer Council fund vital research projects, protecting life's moments for all Australians, just like Rylee. So, let’s keep those generous gifts going!

Rylee was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer at just 16 months old – a baby. But, thanks to cancer research breakthroughs, made possible by you, Rylee has lived to be a teenager.

“If Rylee was diagnosed with this type of brain cancer 10 years earlier, she would not have survived. Without the kind donations from Cancer Council NSW supporters, it could have been a different outcome for Rylee.” says Rylee’s mum, Nikki.

Your gift today can make an impact in vital areas of research like childhood cancers.

Your donation today could go towards research of cancer prevention and treatment to help a child like Rylee.

For Rylee’s mum, the need for research to discover more effective, life-saving cancer treatments has never been so clear:

“You see other children in the cancer ward passing away,” says Nikki, “and it really hits you: not every person gets to continue their life journey. As parents, we’re not meant to see our children go before us. Unfortunately, I saw far too many parents go through that over the course of Rylee’s treatment.

Your kind gift today can help children enjoy more birthdays, as children.

The after-effects of treatment are hard for children like Rylee and parents like Nikki.

But the hardest thing of all is the fear of cancer returning.

“For the first few years, every sign, every symptom, you say to yourself, ‘Oh my God, what's that? Is that the cancer coming back?’" says Nikki.

“Over the years we’ve been between hope, anger, fear and despair. We obviously have to live with the risk of a relapse and so she has an MRI scan every six months.”

“And if the cancer does come back, there’s not much the doctors can do to help unless there are new treatments available by then.”

“I’m grateful for every moment, every smile and every birthday we have with her.”
